Red Dog

Red Dog: Also known as Red Dog Poker or Yablon

This version of Red Dog is played with a single, standard deck of cards, shuffled after each game.

The game begins with the player placing a single bet on the 'Bet' space on the table, using any combination of the chips available.

Min bet = $1.00

Max bet = $200

The player then clicks the Deal button which serves up two cards from the deck. The difference in the face values between the two cards is referred to as the Spread.

The player now bets on the the odds of a third card falling between the first two cards

For the purposes of this game, face cards are valued as follows:

J = 11

Q = 12

K = 13

If the difference (Spread) between the first two cards is 1 or higher, the player is given the option to Raise or Don't Raise.

Raise will double the original bet amount

Don't Raise leaves the original bet amount the same

When either of these options is chosen, a third card is drawn and placed, face-up between the original first two cards.

If the third card falls between the values of the first two cards, the player wins the game.

Payouts are as follows:

Spread 4 or higher pays 1:1

Spread = 3 pays 2:1

Spread = 2 pays 4:1

If the value of the third card does not fall between the values of the original two cards then the player loses the game and forfeits the wagered amount.

Push: If the first two cards drawn are consecutive in value (e.g. 2,3 or 10,J), then the game is considered a tie, or push and the player is prompted to either Rebet using the wager already on the table, or clear the table and start afresh.

Three of a Kind: If the first two cards drawn are of the same value (e.g 3,3 or K,K), then a third card is drawn automatically from the deck. If the third card is the same value as the first two, (e.g. 3,3,3 or K,K,K), then the result is a Three of a Kind which pays 11:1. If the third card is not the same as the first two then the game is considered a tie, or push and the player is prompted to either rebet, or clear the table and start afresh.
